Sadler's Wells Theatre

Theatre in London. First theatre building built in 1765. Early 1900s was used as a skating rink, boxing ring, meeting hall and cinema before closing in 1916. Current building opened on 6th January 1931 by Lilian Baylis.
From 1931-1934 drama performances from The Old Vic were also performed at Sadler's Wells and operas from Sadler's Wells were also performed there.

Sadler's Wells Ballet (now The Royal Ballet) until 1946
Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet (now Birmingham Royal Ballet) until 1957
